I rapidly diagnose complex organisations to determine the root cause of failed performance and delivery. Operating at enterprise system level, I create alignment across business operations and delivery to achieve sustained value. I am adept at being dropped into highly complex, ambiguous situations where the real problem has not yet been identified, quickly building trust and influence across stakeholders, concurrently diagnosing systemic issues, and delivering structured roadmaps to rapidly stabilise and reset the business.
I combine twenty years of military leadership with advanced systems thinking to assess enterprises holistically rather than at functional level. This establishes clarity quickly and enables effective execution in complex, high-pressure environments.
Engaged on a Defence infrastructure program uplift. Framed the system, analysed it in detail to determine the problem and solution state, and developed a supporting roadmap. Acted as senior partner to 10 Defence leaders and the senior executive, acquiring client decision-making authorities and attending steering groups as the sole representative.
Navigated a complex NFP stakeholder community of 150 independent legal entities operating under one brand. Briefed the COO weekly and held direct engagements with the CIO and technology leaders. Delivered projects on time and at or under budget. Developed a $5M strategic program for board consideration.
Held sponsor-delegated authority to lead a national training strategy for a vehicle fleet rollout. Designed the national training and change strategy, ran initial pilots at the employment training school to prove the approach, then led the rollout that cascaded through the enterprise. New trainees carried the capability to their locations, reaching 5,500 people through a deliberately sequenced change design rather than centralised delivery.
Identified systemic risk exposure within a $1B government program and influenced a PMO overhaul to address it. Provided project fundamentals training across the program team, broadening capability and reducing delivery risk.
Most engagements begin with the two-tier diagnostic pathway. The Enterprise System Health Check is the entry point: a fixed-fee, two-day on-site screening ($9,500 ex GST) built around one session with each functional executive, producing an enterprise traffic light view across all eight capability domains. The full fee credits against the Enterprise System Diagnostic when commissioned within 90 days. The Diagnostic goes deeper, delivering a board-ready RAG assessment, confirmed root causes, and a sequenced roadmap.
Redesign the operating model for what the organisation is trying to become. Aligns delivery and BAU across all eight domains.
COO, GM, or Director roles with full delegated authority. Executive accountability from day one, embedded capability at exit.
Diagnose where strategy, operating model, and execution have disconnected. Restore clarity and momentum rapidly.
For stalled or at-risk programs. Rebuild governance, restore executive assurance, recover delivery momentum.
Independent advisory to boards navigating major transformation, AI integration, or significant operating model change.
Rapidly assessing enterprise operating systems to identify hidden friction points and binding constraints that others have missed or deferred.
Stabilising volatile, high-stakes environments without disrupting core operations. Making decisions without complete information when the system requires it.
Bridging the gap between high-level strategy, daily operations, and final delivery. Speaking the language of blue collar and white collar workers alike.
Building credibility quickly across executive, operational, and frontline levels. Holding accountability in environments where trust has broken down.
A diagnostic and delivery system developed over twenty years and applied across $4B+ in Commonwealth program value. Begins with the enterprise system, not the solution.
